No one is exactly sure how it all got started or who said what to who first or when the challenge set.
But here they were -- South Carolina Stingrays winger Matt Scherer and defenseman Nate Kiser -- standing in chest-deep water at the team's hotel on the banks of the Ohio River on the outskirts of Cincinnati with the rest of their teammates standing shoulder-to-shoulder shouting words of encouragement to both competitors.
