Stingrays Receive Capraro from Florida for Van Buskirk

North Charleston, SC – The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that rookie goaltender Parker Van Buskirk has been traded to the Florida Everblades in exchange for forward Chris Capraro.

Van Buskirk, 21, went 1-3-0-2 in seven games with the Stingrays earning a 3.84 goals-against average and a .879 save percentage. The Windsor, ON native came to the Stingrays via trade with the Utah Grizzlies in early January in exchange for future considerations. While with the Grizzlies, Van Buskirk went 5-8-1-0 with a 3.39 GAA and a .881 save percentage.

Capraro, 26, skated in 19 games with the Everblades scoring a goal and four assists for five points. The Medford, MA native was acquired by the Everblades from the Wheeling Nailers for defenseman Cleve Kinley.  While in Wheeling, Capraro earned 22 points (5g, 17a) in 25 games.He will wear jersey number 23 for the Stingrays.

The Stingrays welcome the Florida Everblades for a three-in-three home weekend starting on Friday, March 12 at 7:05 p.m. at North Charleston Coliseum.
