Kashirsky Returns; de Kastrozza Recalled to Hershey

North Charleston, SC The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Cail MacLean announced today that forward Nikita Kashirsky has been assigned to the team by the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League and forward David de Kastrozza has been recalled by the Stingrays’ AHL affiliate.

Kashirsky, 25, skated in 19 games with the Stingrays this season netting six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. The Moscow, Russia native lit the lamp 19 times as a rookie for the Stingrays during the 2009-10 campaign and accumulated 16 assists for 35 points in 39 games. Prior to turning pro, Kashirsky played for four seasons at Norwich University potting 144 points (73g, 71a) in 110 games. As a senior, Kashirsky led the team in goals (17), assists (17) and points (34) while appearing in all 25 games en route to All-ECAC East First Team honors for the second straight season. Kashirsky dressed in 14 games with the Bears this season scoring two goals.

de Kastrozza, 24, ranks 10 among ECHL rookies with 26 points (15g, 11a) in 40 games with the Stingrays. The Toms River, NJ native joined the Stingrays for three regular-season contests and four playoff games last season after completing his senior year at the University of Maine. de Kastrozza dressed in 85 games for the Black Bears scoring nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points.
