North Charleston, SC –The South Carolina Stingrays (30-21-2-2) wrapped up a four-game series against the Greenville Road Warriors (32-20-1-1) Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 victory in front of 3,096 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

Stingrays forward Trent Campbell grabbed the opening marker at 8:04 of the first period by slipping a shot between the legs of Road Warriors goaltender Nic Riopel from the top of the right-wing circle. Defenseman Derek Keller received the lone assist. Just over a minute later, forward Rob Ricci made it 2-0 Stingrays at 9:18 from forward Tommy Goebel. The Road Warriors jumped on the board at 13:46 when forward Marc-Olivier Vallerand knocked in a rebound past the left pad of Stingrays netminder Shane Owen. Forward Connor Shields and defenseman Trevor Glass earned assists. The Rays reclaimed a two-goal lead on the power play with defenseman Joe Finley’s first tally of the season at 14:44 from Goebel and Keller.
The Road Warriors pulled the contest back within one late in the second period when forward Chris Clackson deflected a shot between the legs of Owen at 19:42 from Vallerand and defenseman Wes Cunningham.
Forward Pierre-Luc O’Brien sealed the victory for the Stingrays with an empty-net goal at 19:56 of the final frame from forward Ryan Del Monte.
Owen improved to 3-0-1-0 against the Road Warriors stopping 25 of 27 shots. Riopel suffered the loss knocking aside 37 of 40 Stingrays chances. The Stingrays finished the night going 1-for-5 on the power play while the Road Warriors went 0-for-3.
