“That was our most complete effort of the season,” South Carolina assistant coach Jared Bednar said. “We’re really happy with the win. It was basically mistake-free. Everyone played a part in this victory.”

South Carolina (18-14-2, 38 points) opened the scoring just 17 seconds into the game. Reid took a pass from Cail MacLean and deposited his 11th goal of the season beating goaltender Nathan Marsters. The secondary assist went to Nate Kiser.

Just 37 seconds later, Peter Szabo won the face-off to Donny Grover, who rifled a shot from the right point in for his sixth marker of the season beating Marsters. Dave McKee took over in net for the Lynx with the Stingrays ahead 4-0.

Augusta (16-18-0, 32 points) solved goaltender Davis Parley at 6:29 of the second, Ryan Lang netted his team-leading 16th goal of the campaign from Ken Scuderi and Shane Hynes, who was named as the Lynx All-Star Game representative.

Szabo let go with a shot on a 5-on-3 power play with assists going to Grover and Schwabe at 8:43 to make it 5-1 for South Carolina.

In the third, Cam McCaffrey ripped a shot into the back of the net for his eighth of the season. Brendan Bernakevitch and Ryan Bennett garnered helpers.
