Stingrays Present Pink in the Rink

02/13/2007 2:42 PM -

N. Charleston, S.C. -    The South Carolina Stingrays announced that this Friday Night will be the first annual “Pink in the Rink” night.  The Stingrays are taking on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.

In honor of the “Pink in the Rink” event, the Stingrays will be wearing specially designed limited edition pink jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game through a silent auction.  Proceeds from the auction will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased directly through the American Cancer Society by calling 744-1922.  The American Cancer Society will receive a portion of the ticket price for each ticket sold through their organization.

In addition to “Pink in the Rink,” Friday’s game is also Ladies Night with events aimed toward women occurring prior to the game.  Barry’s Jewelers is providing a “diamond” for the first 1,000 women through the door, but only one of them is real.  You must visit Barry to find out if you were the lucky one to win the real diamond.  A bridal show, sponsored by Carlson Wagonlit, will be open from 5:30 until the end of the game in the North Meeting Room and a vendor village will be located on the concourse.  The vendor village will feature area non-profit and retail organizations with a focus on women’s interests.

Also available, exclusive to women, is the “Pink Package” which features a ticket to the game, a “Pink in the Rink” t-shirt, admission to Hockey 101 with coaches Jason Fitzsimmons and Jared Bednar, and a five dollar donation to the American Cancer Society – all for only $25.  You must contact Stephanie Merholz at the Stingrays front office to purchase your “Pink Package.”

Come out to the game on Friday night to help support the American Cancer Society.  Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for Season Ticket Holders and at 6 p.m. for the general public.  Friday’s game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 910 the Team and online at beginning at 6:50 p.m. with Mike Kelly, “Voice of the Rays.”  Stingrays Hockey – A Whole Lot Cooler!
