What is your fondest Stingrays memory?
Winning the Kelly Cup in 1996/97.
You hung up at the skates at only age 26. Why so young?
I decided to retire young because other opportunities came along combined
with a torn ACL in my last season.
What attracted you to stay in the Palmetto State after you retired?
Friendships, opportunities, weather and outdoor activities.
Who's the better hockey player, you or your younger brother Scott?
Scott is a great player, I don't think I can judge who's better.
Do you still keep in contact with any of your former Stingrays teammates?
Still in contact with: Brett Marietti, Jason Fitzsimmons, Rob Concannon, Jared Bednar, Jeff Maclean, Kevin Knopp, Cory Cadden, Chris Hynnes, Dave Seitz, Jay Moser, Mike Jickling, and Trevor Johnson.
What do you miss the most about your playing days in South Carolina?
I miss the great friendships with teammates & fans. I also miss the great feeling of winning at the North Chas Coliseum, which we did a lot of.
Any regrets?
I would have liked to have one more season to finish on a winning note.
Anything you’d like to say to Stingrays fans who might read this?
My family and I would like to share our sincerest gratitude for the chance to get to play the game I love and have a chance to do so in a beautiful place with outstanding people. Every player wants to play in Charleston, I am honored to be one that had a chance to do it. This opportunity changed my life forever. Thanks to the ownership group and most importantly the fans. Keep supporting the players, it means a lot.
