Biography:

Ricci, 25, returns to the Stingrays after finishing 11th among ECHL rookies with 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points. The Brampton, ON native was one of only two Stingrays skaters to compete in all 72 regular season games during the 2009-10 campaign. During the 2008-2009 ECHL Playoffs, Ricci dressed in seven games and netted one goal as the Stingrays captured their ECHL-record third Kelly Cup title.

“Rob plays a very smart brand of hockey,” said MacLean. “His positional play is great and he has a skill set that makes him a valuable special teams player. After settling in with a strong rookie season, I expect Rob to really turn some heads in the ECHL this year.”

Prior to turning pro, the 5-foot-9, 165-pound Ricci skated for three seasons at Merrimack College and was a teammate of current Stingrays defenseman Grant Farrell. While with the Warriors, Ricci scored 83 points (34g, 49a) in 99 games. Before moving to the NCAA, Ricci spent two years with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and a full season with the Milton Merchants of the OPJHL.
