Prior to turning pro, the Lisle, IL native skated for four seasons with the University of North Dakota registering 11 points (1g, 10a) and 237 penalty minutes in 168 games. Jones was also a member of the U.S. National Under-18 team from 2003-2005 netting two goals and eight assists for ten points in 50 games and skated alongside current NHL’ers Patrick Kane, Phil Kessel, and Peter Mueller.
