Stingrays Weekly Report - January 28

With a win in their only outing last week, the South Carolina Stingrays have now secured victories in three of their last four contests as they begin a 3-game slate this week. The Rays are tied with the Jacksonville Icemen for second place in the ECHL’s South Division with an overall record of 23-17-2 and 48 points. After going 5-for-5 on the penalty kill during Sunday’s win over Greenville, SC moved into second in the league’s penalty kill rankings with an 86% mark.

The Stingrays begin the week on Wednesday night for a home matchup with the Norfolk Admirals, who are in fifth place in the South Division standings. SC is just 1-3-0 against Norfolk in four meetings so far this season. The Rays will then fly west for a visit to Kansas City where they’ll battle the Mavericks on Friday and Saturday night. South Carolina last visited Independence, Missouri almost three years ago on Feb. 9, 2016 when they pulled out a 4-2 victory.
