The ECHL Board of Governors Meeting was held via conference call Tuesday of this week. Overall, the meeting was optimistic, and progress is being made towards the best start for the 2020-21 season.
The Board of Governors discussed the preparations and intent to play for the start of the new season. The League determined the process, including scheduling Board Meetings throughout the summer of 2020 and developing protocols in conjunction with the Professional Hockey Players’ Association and local/federal health officials, to determine progress in ECHL markets for the return of safe play for players, fans and employees as stated by the league on Wednesday.
“I feel confident and optimistic that there will be a 2020-21 season,” said Stingrays President Rob Concannon. “We are continuing to work closely with the ECHL and the other members on how we can safely return to action.”
