NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, have announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Jordan Klimek for the 2025-26 season.
Klimek, 29, begins his fourth year in the Lowcountry after playing in 40 games last season with the Stingrays. He logged eight points (3 goals, 5 assists) and posted a +19, which was fifth best amongst all South Carolina defensemen.
“We’re really excited to have Jordan Klimek back in Charleston for another season,” Head Coach Dave Warsofsky said. “He’s a hardworking player who shows up every day with the right attitude and makes everyone around him better. Jordan is a steady, reliable defenseman who we trust in all situations, and that versatility makes him an extremely valuable piece of our team. His professionalism and consistency are big parts of why we’re so glad to have him back in our lineup.”
Klimek returned to the Stingrays last year after playing overseas for three years. Klimek played for DEAC in the Erste Liga in Hungary before spending two seasons (2022-2024) with the Guildford Flames of the EIHL.
“I am so excited to get back down to the Lowcountry,” Klimek said. “I’m looking forward to building on our success from last season. I love playing for the Rays in front of the best fans around. See you all in October!”
The 5-foot-11, 174 pound defenseman first came to the Stingrays in 2019 following his first professional season with the Kansas City Mavericks and spent two years with South Carolina. In his Stingrays career, the Langley, British Columbia native has logged 26 points (12 g, 14 a) in 110 games.
Klimek joins Reilly Webb, Romain Rodzinski, Connor Moore and newcomer DJ King on the Stingrays blue line.
