The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals and AHL affiliate of the Hershey Bears, have announced the signing of defenseman Vinny Muto Tuesday.The native of Niagara Falls, NY is the latest addition to the team’s defensive group, most recently playing four games with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits earlier this season. Muto has suited up for a total of 43 ECHL games during the last three seasons with Greenville, Worcester and Rapid City, scoring seven points on a goal and six assists.In addition, Muto played 25 games with the Macon Mayhem in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) during the 2017-18 year, posting 15 points (three goals, 12 assists).Measuring 6-feet-2, 215 pounds, Muto played four years of collegiate hockey with Niagara University from 2013-2017. The defender appeared in 136 contests for the Purple Eagles, registering 50 points on 12 goals and 38 assists. Before school, Muto spent the 2012-13 season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and played a total of 56 games with the Lincoln Stars and Sioux Falls Stampede, scoring 16 points with four goals and 12 assists along with a +34 rating.The Stingrays are back in action on Wednesday in Florida to battle the Everblades in the first of a 3-game series at 7:30 p.m. South Carolina will return home next month with some big games including Social Media Night on Dec. 7 and Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 8.Single-game tickets for all Stingrays games during the 2018-19 season are on sale now at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office and ticketmaster.com.Ticket packages and Groups of 10 or more are on sale now featuring discounted pricing and great benefits.
