Stingrays Acquire Eiserman In Trade With Atlanta

The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, completed a trade Sunday to acquire forward Shane Eiserman from the Atlanta Gladiators along with future considerations in exchange for the ECHL rights to forward Garret Ross.

Eiserman, a 23-year-old rookie, has posted six points on two goals and four assists in his first six professional games this season. The Newburyport, Mass. native began his year with the Adirondack Thunder and had a goal and two assists in two contests before being traded to Atlanta where he has posted another goal and two assists in four games.

The forward played collegiately at the University of New Hampshire from 2014-18 where he secured a total of 51 points (17 goals, 34 assists) in 125 games. Eiserman is also a former fourth-round draft pick (100th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators.

Before UNH, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound attacker played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2013-14 and scored 40 points (16 goals, 24 assists) in 53 regular season games. He also represented the United States in various international competitions including the U18 World Junior Championships as part of his time with the United States National Team Development Program during the 2012-13 season, where he was teammates with current Stingrays defenseman John MacLeod.

Ross was acquired in a trade with Fort Wayne on Nov. 4. The 26-year-old suited up for eight games with the Komets this year, posting two assists.

The Stingrays have also announced that defenseman Marcus Perrier has left the team to pursue an opportunity in Europe and has been placed on suspension.

Perrier, 27, played 11 games this season for South Carolina and 270 total regular season games with the Rays along with 61 postseason contests since joining the team for the 2014-15 season. The Stingrays will retain Perrier’s ECHL rights.

South Carolina is home to host the Gladiators at the North Charleston Coliseum on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. The Stingrays will also host Marvel Super Hero Night on Saturday against the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05. The first 2,500 fans through the door receive a Black Panther Banner and parking will be free that nigtht!
