ROMAIN RODZINSKI IS BACK WITH STINGRAYS FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON

ROMAIN RODZINSKI IS BACK WITH STINGRAYS FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, announced today that defenseman Romain Rodzinski has agreed to terms for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Rodzinski, 24, joined the Stingrays in February 2025 following a trade with the Idaho Steelheads and quickly emerged as a key piece of the back end of the Stingrays, who finished number one in the ECHL with the fewest goals against.  Romain’s elite skating ability helped him become one of the ECHL’s most reliable and impactful defensemen during the second half of the 2024-25 season.

In March, Rodzinski was honored as the ECHL Plus Performer of the Month, leading the ECHL with a remarkable +24 rating over 14 games. He appeared in 46 games with Idaho and South Carolina and finished the season with 8 goals, 16 assists, 24 points, and an impressive +28 for the season.

“We are excited to have Romain back for another season,” said Stingrays Head Coach David Warsofsky. He is a dynamic and dependable defenseman who provides value in all areas of the game. His ability to contribute in every situation makes him an important asset to our team. On and off the ice, Romain is an important part of the Stingrays.”

Before turning pro, Rodzinski played several seasons in the QMJHL, with Québec Remparts, Cape Breton Eagles, and Chicoutimi Saguenéens. During his final stretch in the QMJHL with Chicoutimi in 2022-23, Rodzinski collected 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists) in 28 games. He also logged time in the QJHL with the Terrebonne Cobras, leading the team in scoring that same season with 56 points (14 goals, 42 assists) in 27 games.

“I’m pumped to be back,” Rodzinski said. “Last year left us with unfinished business, and I’m here to help us get it done. It’s gonna be a fun year for the fans!”

Romain becomes the second player announced to the Stingrays 2025-26 roster.
