NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, announced today that defenseman Aidan Hreschuk and forwards Josh Prokop and Ryan Sandelin are participating in the Hershey Bears Training Camp. In addition, defenseman Luke Prokop is participating in the Bakersfield Condors Training Camp.

Hreschuk, 23, is entering his second season of professional hockey and signed with South Carolina on July 30. Last season, the Long Beach, CA native skated in 61 games for the Idaho Steelheads while also making three appearances with the Texas Stars in the AHL. With Idaho, Hreschuk had 21 points (2g, 19a) and added an assist while with the Stars. The 5-foot-11, 200 pound blueliner turned pro last season after four years at Boston College, logging 38 points (6g, 32a) in 146 games with the Eagles.

Josh Prokop agreed to terms with the Stingrays on August 13 and is set to begin his second full season of professional hockey. The Edmonton, Alberta native began his professional career at the end of the 2024-25 season skating in seven games with the Bakersfield Condors, notching three points (1g, 2a). Last year, the 5-foot-11, 185 pound forward played in 47 games for Herning Blue Fox of Metal Ligaen, Denmark’s top league. With the Blue Fox, he produced 36 points (17g, 19a) and helped them to a Danish Championship.

Sandelin spent a majority of the last three seasons in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles and Iowa Wild. After a four-year career with Minnesota State University-Mankato, Sandelin made his professional debut with Colorado during the 2022-23 season. He skated in 37 games with the Eagles the next season tallying nine points (6g, 3a) while also making seven appearances with the Utah Grizzlies, scoring three goals and adding three assists. The Hermantown, MN, native then signed with the Iowa Wild and played in 108 games over the following two seasons notching 24 points (11g, 13a). In his AHL career, Sandelin has 34 points (18g, 16a) in 149 games.

Luke Prokop, 24, enters his fifth season of professional hockey after skating in 42 games with Bakersfield last year, recording 11 points (3g, 8a) with the Condors. Originally drafted in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators, the Edmonton, Alberta native made his professional debut during the 2022-23 season playing in eight games for the Norfolk Admirals, scoring once. The following season, the blueliner produced 28 points (5g, 23a) in 55 games for the Atlanta Gladiators while also tallying two assists in nine games with the Milwaukee Admirals. In 2024-25, Prokop made 31 appearances for the Admirals, notching four points (1g, 3a).

The schedule and roster for the 2026 South Carolina Stingrays Training Camp, presented by Ethos Athletic Club, will be announced at a later date.
