NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Washington Capitals and AHL’s Hershey Bears, announced today that defenseman Reilly Webb has agreed to terms for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
Webb, a towering presence on the blue line, standing at 6-foot-4, was acquired by the Stingrays in a trade with the Bloomington Bison last October and became one of the top defensemen for South Carolina. Webb tallied 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 68 games and posted a +28, which was tied for sixth best amongst defensemen in the ECHL last season.
“Reilly is a cornerstone of our defense,” Head Coach Dave Warsofsky said. “He shows up to the rink every day with a great attitude and leads by example. He puts his body on the line every night and does whatever it takes to win. His presence on the ice is huge for us, and I’m excited to see him take the next steps in his career. Reilly has also been a tremendous part of the Charleston community, and we’re thrilled to have him back.”
Prior to turning pro, the Stoney Creek, Ontario native spent four years at Acadia University, where he was an assistant captain in the 2023-24 season. Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Webb played in nearly 200 games in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Saginaw Spirit and Hamilton Bulldogs from 2016 until 2020.
“I’m super excited to play in Charleston again,” Webb said. “The fan base and community is super strong. I look forward to an exciting year!”
Off the ice, Webb is heavily involved in the community. Last season, he was part of the Players With a Purpose initiative, where $5 from every ticket purchased went towards Be The Change Charleston, an organization focused on empowering individuals with disabilities through community connection & employment opportunities.
Webb begins his second professional season looking to build off a strong first year alongside fellow returning defensemen Romain Rodzinski and Connor Moore.
